Joe Daniel White
Joe Daniel White, age 89, died Monday, September 3, 2016 in Hueytown.
Mr. White was born in Walker County where he lived during his early life and resided in Jefferson County most of his life. Mr. White joined the US Navy at an early age and was a World War II veteran. He retired from U. S. Steel with forty years of service and was a member of Concord Highland Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell White; four sisters, Elsie Irene Muir, Ida Belle Edwards, Mildred George, and Charlie Elizabeth Johnson.
Mr. White is survived by one son, Terry White (Debra); four grandchildren, Lesley White, Eric Goodwin, Scott Goodwin, and Joshua Goodwin; several great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Hood and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Valhalla Cemetery with Richard Larson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:00 P.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Concord Highland Baptist Church, 105 Concord Highland Drive, Bessemer, AL 35023.
