Obituary for Jerry Wright Bagwell Sr.

Jerry Wright Bagwell, Sr., age 74, of Birmingham passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at St. Vincent’s –East Hospital.

Mr. Bagwell was a native of Fayette, Alabama and lived in Jefferson County most all of his life. He retired from Mayfield and Barber Dairy and was a member of Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Army and was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Christine Wright.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Janice L. Bagwell; a son, Jerry W. Bagwell, Jr. (Dawn); a daughter, Anita Bagwell; 4 grandchildren, Brent and Jerry Bagwell; Joey and Kristen Tortorici; 3 great grandchildren, Holly and C. J. Tortorici and Daisy Bradley; and a brother, Ronnie Bagwell (Reta).

Services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Valhalla Chapel with Rev. Ed Cruce officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
