Obituary for
Tommy Buttram
Tommy Buttram age 75, of Bessemer transitioned from his Earthly home to be with his Father and Savior on October 31, 2017 surrounded by his family. The precious and loving husband of Shirley T. Buttram and father of Beau D. Buttram will be greatly missed.
He was a member of Raimund Heights Baptist and loved the LORD.
Tommy was a Master Carpenter and he used his carpentry skills to build a number of banks and shopping centers while working with Roberts Brothers and Anderson Contractors of Gadsden AL before buying a Shell C Store. Tommy spent his latter years doing what he loved, watching Alabama Crimson Tide football and working his vending machine company.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorene Sprayberry Hamlin.
Tommy will be remembered by his loving wife of 50 plus years, Shirley T. Buttram; son, Beau D. Buttram; father, Thomas Jefferson Buttram; half-brothers, William “Bill” Buttram of Milwaulkee, WI and Tim Hamlin, Heflin, AL; a half- sister, Joan Buttram; one uncle, George Buttram, Lecta, AL; aunt, Dorothy Gidley, Delta, AL; one brother in law, Sam (Judy) Thomaston and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 5pm-7pm at Valhalla Funeral Home’s chapel. A homegoing celebration will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11 am in the chapel of Valhalla Funeral Home, 5317 Bessemer Super Highway, Midfield, AL 35228. Rev. Pete Frames and Rev. Tommy Chesser will be officiating
