Spencer A.  Ames
Spencer A. Ames, born July 6, 1927 in Batavia, New York, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Veterans Home in Pell City.

Mr. Ames is survived by his wife, Mary Ames; children, Sharon (Wayne) Cooke and Steven (Terry) Ames; grandchildren, Susan (Josh) Townsend, Maura (Glen) Fontenot and Jeff (Lisa) Cooke; great grandchildren, Michael and Joshua Davison, Brennen and Chandler Cooke; a great-great grandchild Quinton Davison.

Mr. Ames was a World War II veteran, Merchant Marine and Army soldier, retired from General Foods/Kraft Corp and a member of Clearview Baptist Church. A special thank you to the Col Howard Veterans Home for their exceptional care and kindness.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00 A. M. at Clearview Baptist Church. Interment will be private at Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
